Santa came a little bit TOO early this year!!!!!
My parents came to visit us for Christmas, driving from Florida to Virginia and they arrived at 4:30 a.m. By that time Madison had already woke up several times coming into my room and tapping me on the shoulder to see if it was time to get up. Once at 2:56 a.m. and again at 4:00 a.m. I told her, no it was not time yet it was still way too early. I hadn't had much sleep because...."Santa" did not crawl into bed until 1:00 a.m. I had just dozed back off to sleep at ten minutes after 4:00 a.m. and then my cell phone rang, it was my Mom they were only 10 minutes away from pulling into my driveway. When they drove up I just decided to go ahead and GET UP!! I had Madison (who had not quite fallen asleep again) crawl into bed with her Daddy while I met my parents at the door. By that time the dog was barking and pretty much woke everyone else up. I just put on a pot of coffee and said let's go ahead and bring the girls in the living room and see what Santa had left under the tree. I knew they were double excited with it being Christmas morning and then to add Nana, Papa & Uncle Robby had arrived, the anticipation was just too much so we did Christmas around 4:40 a.m. By 6:30 a.m. it was all said and done with!!! But everyone was happy and so glad to be together. We didn't do too much Christmas day, other than eat, eat, eat and the girls enjoyed all of their things they had gotten. This was the first year we did not have the traditional Turkey dinner. With Mom & Dad not getting here until Christmas Day it was just too much to do by myself we had planned to just do a steak dinner. We had fresh Ribeye steaks (cut from the Butcher), Salad, Baked potatoes & corn on the cobb. Yummy!!!!
